Promoting Through Forums
Forums are a great place to find information and
give advice. They also help promote your
business. However, You do not
advertise in forums!!!
Most forums do not tolerate advertising at
all. They all have moderators that watch the forum posts 24/7. If a post is
spotted that seems to, or is obviously an attempt to blatantly advertise
that post will be deleted immediately.
A lot of people go to forums
seeking advice about something they need help with. Be it help with a
website, Search Engine Optimization, Promotion, and even technical
issues.
Some forums are more general and some are specific. On thing
you must remember. If you go to a forum seeking advice about anything you
should also try to return the favor. There is always someone, some where
that you can offer a helping hand to.
Maybe you are new to
marketing, but you know a lot about computers in general. Like for instance,
I was Very new to marketing and frequented a couple of forums for advice
about building my website. I never thought I could help any one else at that
point. One day I was browsing the forum and noticed someone asking about
spyware removal that I had seen posting there about very knowledgeable
marketing issues. She had even given me advice before. Guess what? I knew
what she needed to about spyware, because that was something that I Had
dealt with.
It felt good to "Give something back", when people had
helped me so much. Plus, I was able to include my link to my website in the
post. I had 5 visitors from that link alone.

Not only will you find step by step instructions about posting and including your links in different forums, but also, a large clickable list of different Forums.
There are forums all
over the internet for all sorts of topics. They are easy to find with
google. Simply type in a topic. For example, if you are interested in
website design, type in website design+forum. You will probably be awarded a
long list for this topic.
You can also find forums related to your
niche or hobby. There are forums on marketing, design, promotion, business,
and even stuff like teens, babies, angel gifts, sports, cars and
communities.
No matter what your interests are, you are sure to find
a forum to relate to it.

super for getting the information you need about building a website. And
they reallly participate in discussions with a great deal of
expertise!

None of the above forums tolerate any advertising at
all. For a matter of fact, if you happen to find one that does, you probably
won't hang around. They are cluttered and unorderly. And it is hard to
get good honest advice from someone who is only interested in promoting
their product.
