What is a blog? 

weB Log:  A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog. Postings on a blog are almost always arranged in order with the most recent additions featured most prominantly. 

Another great way to advertise. Start a blog (Web log) of your own. When doing your own research, add what you find to your blog on a regular basis. Eventually you will create a healthy following of trusting souls! There are several places where you can start a "Blog" for free. Make sure the service is relevant for your topic.

For example: If you are promoting a Niche about a product. You probably don't want a Blog that is connected to other Blogs that are just talking about Services. I haven't researched this topic much yet.  However, If you subscribe to my newsletter, you will recieve updates as I find them.
 
Posting daily accountances and learned information to a blog that is relevant to your
website will increase awareness and traffic. By giving you yet another place to link back to
your site. And also providing search engine friendly content.

There are a lot of websites on the Internet today that offer blog hosting. Some will even
allow you to start your own blog for free.
